Happy Turkey Day From The Crew....

Went out and shot some skeet during this Turkey Day.

Well have to say I cant remember not suiting up on this day and paddling out with my friends for some fun surf. But this turkey day is about spending time with your love ones and being happy for all the good friends and family we have. Hope everyone got a good meal in today because there looks to be some decent east swells in the water next week. So stay tuned.

Cheers..

The Spot

A few of the boys were up North last swell and checked "The Spot"...needless to say it was going off and yeah, it's bigger than it looks.

It sucks dry...

I'm sure Surfline would love to do a feature on this spot...hopefully that won't happen any time soon.

6 days straight

Well to the say the least it has been a epic run of swell the past week. We have surfed the past 6 days all over southern RI. Went out yesterday afternoon and was greeted with waist plus sets and glassy conditions. And the best part was I was all alone. At the moment looks to be some south, south west wind swell in the water and blowing pretty hard onshore. I think the wind will be a little more favorable in the am and probably will see some chest high sets in the right spots.

Lefthanded weekend

With consistent NE breeze the south facing shores have been going off since Wednesday. Shredding until sunset tonight- we had a lefty kinda session. Rights always to be had but the lefts were where it was at as the wind clocked to the right. This morning still contained well overhead energy-fading throughout the day- but still the occasional head high wave was curling in all the way until after dark. Friday Saturday Sunday were all in the overhead to overhead-1/2++ range. What a weekend here, and to think we thought we needed to go north...

More swell in the forecast. Maybe some easterly bump for later in the weekend but let's see what's cooking for turkey week.

Cheers

Surprize....

This little 5"6 vec rocket was working wonders today on the point

Well went to bed last night and what do you know the bouy was reading 4.9 at 13 sec from the sse. What in the heck, this one was not forecasted. So woke up this morning and went out on my porch and was greeted with overhead and reeling lefts. Have to say didnt expect anything remotely close to this. Paddled out at around 11 and it was really nuking out of the north about 20 to 25 knots. By two the wind was dying and the waves were getting really good. Caught a couple lefts from the point and got some of the longest rides of my life at the break. The lefts where reeling and were going at least two hundred yards plus. Ill post some pics tomorrow after a session in the am. Looks like the swell is going to hang for a bit.

Snowing in Southern RI..big east swell forcasted

                                            http://www.surfline.com/coast-swell-wind/northeast/new-england_2145

Well woke up this morning and there was a couple in inches of snow on the ground and the south swell was gone due to the brisk north west winds all night. Couple of buddy's up north called and said that big east swell is expected this weekend and it should lite up the coast. The swell is looking minimal here in southern ri for the next couple days but there might be a bump in the water on weds. Looks like if your up north of the cape your going to have swell for the whole week continuing into next week.Well be headed up north this week some time to get a piece of the action and more pics and video from this past weekend will be up in the next couple days.

Over head swell in the water

Just drove down to the dock and it was to say the least firing. The tide was low and it was sucking and there were many right barrels to be had. Sets looked to be in the couple feet over head range. Winds are pretty strong out of the south west at about 20 mph. The swell looks to move in tonight and the morning is looking to be really good. Ill be traveling with the crew tonight and hope to wake to empty firing waves. Well check back tomorrow and let ya know if we scored.

Solid swell to hit New England...

The anticipation is building and I finally think we are going to get our first big fall swell. The forecasters are calling for overhead south, sse swell in the over head to double over head range on the sets. This low pressure system looks really strong and Im convinced that we will be seeing surf in the DOH range. We are packing up the truck and will be heading out tomorrow in search of  perfect uncrowded waves. The way it use to be in New England. Funny how Igor seems like such a long time ago...i was looking through my phone today and found this picture from Igor in my back yard down in southern rhodeisland. Well keep you updated as the swell arrives.

Waiting period...

Today was a beautiful day in here in southern rhode island. Last night the beach was going off and we caught upwards of twenty stripers and a few bluefish. Finally forecasters are calling what looks like to be some solid south swell to hit Friday and into the weekend. The crew down here has a few plans and we will be traveling as always. We will check back with some pics and story's of our trip.
