Tis' the Season

This is the time of the year that every New England surfer cant wait for. Big nor'easters and waves all to your self  for as long as you can bare the terrible weather that the north east offers this time of the year. This past week we had our first winter storm hit and the southern shores shot a blank but the north shore was firing. Then you have the flat spells of the winter months and you pull up to the beach and you see knee to waist swell and thirty knot winds with temperatures barely over 20. These are the days that shape what kind of surfer you are and shows the  love that surfing has given to you. Not all but some of us (you know who you are) dont even hesitate and suit up and head out to get that feeling that you did when you caught your first wave.Yeah it might be twenty degrees and snow might be getting blown in your face and you start to loose feeling in your limbs after thirty minutes but this is addiction that every surfer is faced with. And I know that myself cannot resist leaving the beach when it is rideable no matter what the weather is. Surfing is not just a sport but has led me meet many great people, friends for life that share the same love and has shaped me into the person that I am today.So everyone put your dam suits on and stop being bitches and go catch a few waves because (we) are so lucky to live in the north east and share the same love for something.

I have a theory that if you surf less and watch more, you'll enjoy it more......no wait

And, the fewer people in the water, means the more you will enjoy just watching the wave peel, all alone.

The more pristine the locations, the more hazardous it could be to you health if you enter the water.

Something was lurking this beach however, just outside that perfect wave was a nice dark shadow.

Fun day down at the pier Friday. Looking forward towards those winter storms to start brewing and the crowds to thin out. All around a fun swell though.
